Infonancial Solutions at CCUA’s 2025 National Conference: Embracing Change, Elevating Member Experience

Last week, our team at Infonancial Solutions had the privilege of joining over 1,300 credit union professionals in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for the Canadian Credit Union Association’s 2025 National Conference. From May 12–15, we immersed ourselves in engaging sessions, inspiring keynotes, and countless networking moments—each reinforcing our shared mission to transform the back-office and deliver exceptional value to credit union members.

A Warm East Coast Welcome

The conference opened in style at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, where live Celtic tunes, lobster rolls, and donairs set a convivial tone for the days ahead. Our booth in the bustling trade show hall became a hub of conversation, as delegates—old friends and new—stopped by to discuss everything from process automation to next-generation digital onboarding. The energy was electric, and we were reminded that, even amid rapid change, the credit union community remains rooted in collaboration and mutual support.

Keynote Insights on Growth and Disruption

  • Jeff Guthrie, CCUA President & CEO kicked off Day 1 by framing disruption as opportunity. His call to deepen our commitment to young Canadians and newcomers resonated strongly: at Infonancial, we’re continually refining our member-centric tools to make financial services more accessible and inclusive.

  • Jamie Clarke, Extreme Adventurer & Leadership Speaker, followed with a masterclass in resilience. Using gripping stories from his mountaineering expeditions, Jamie challenged us to build agile teams that can pivot under pressure—a direct parallel to credit union operations striving for agility in a digital landscape.

  • Amanda Lindhout, Humanitarian & Author, closed out the conference by sharing her journey through unimaginable adversity. Her framework for “reframing challenges” struck a chord with our own philosophy: by embracing change head-on, credit unions can not only survive disruption but emerge stronger.

Infonancial Takeaways from Breakouts & Workshops

With more than 16 breakout and plenary sessions, the conference offered deep dives into topics that align closely with our product roadmap:

Digital Transformation Strategies

  • Best practices for automating loan origination workflows.

  • Case studies in end-to-end straight-through processing.

  • Lessons learned on balancing legacy integrations with modern APIs.

    Member Experience Innovations

  • Personalization at scale: using data analytics to anticipate member needs.

  • Conversational banking: integrating chatbots without sacrificing the human touch.

  • Accessibility upgrades: designing interfaces for diverse populations.

Our product team came away energized by real-world feedback—and we’re already incorporating many of these insights into upcoming releases of our Digital Back Office suite.

Celebrating Leadership and Community

The Closing Dinner & Awards ceremony was a highlight: an authentic East Coast kitchen party complete with Signal Hill’s live music and spirited celebration. We joined in honoring:

  • Claire Lessel, Atlantic Edge CU – Emerging Leader Award

  • East Coast Credit Union – Coady Award for community impact

  • Allison Chaytor-Loveys & Glenn Friesen – CCUA Distinguished Credit Union Leader Awards

  • Katrina Turnbull, East Coast CU – National Young Leaders Scholarship

Each of these leaders exemplifies the values we champion at Infonancial: innovation grounded in service, and growth measured by community benefit.

Looking Ahead: From Halifax to Ottawa

As we pack up our booth and reflect on four unforgettable days, one theme stands out: change is the currency of innovation. Whether through digital automation, ESG stewardship, or leadership resilience, credit unions are charting bold new paths—and Infonancial is proud to walk alongside you.

Save the date: CCUA’s 2026 National Conference returns May 10–13 in Ottawa. We can’t wait to reconnect, share our latest platform enhancements, and continue shaping the future of member-first financial services—together.
